The new Garmin GPSMAP 66s personal GPS handheld is the perfect tool for your next outdoor adventure. It has an improved bigger 3 inch hi-resolution display and multi GNSS support which fixes your location quicker on a bigger screen. The BirdsEye satellite imagery can be downloaded to the device directly without paying a yearly subscription. With WiFi and Bluetooth, this GPSMAP 66s is able to pair wireless internet and smartphone easily to track data syncs, download maps and active weather updates.

Built in ABC sensor

The new Garmin GPSMAP 66s handheld GPS utilizes three sensors to determine elevation, pressure, and direction of heading. These sensors are the altimeter, barometer, and compass sensor.

Altimeter - Provides elevation data to accurately monitor ascent and descent.
Barometer - Showing short-term trends in air pressure
Compass - Electronic compass provides direction of heading. The compass can be used when idle or moving at low speed.

BirdsEye Satellite Imagery
The BirdsEye Satellite Imagery can be downloaded directly into the GPSMAP 66s device. There is no extra annual subscription required for this device. The BirdsEye Satellite Imagery provides hi-resolution sub-meter colour satellite imagery of surroundings.

Real-time weather forecast
When pairing the GPSMAP 66 series device via Bluetooth to a compatible smartphone, It will use your mobile data to receive Active Weather updates for real-time forecast information. This includes predictive maps for temperature, wind, precipitation and clouds. It also provides live weather radar so you’re aware of inclement weather that can affect your outdoor adventures.

Have your trip backed up
Even when you’re out of mobile service, you can still use the Garmin Explore mobile app to plan, review and sync trip data between GPSMAP 66s and mobile phone. You can also review completed activities from the app. Once you have mobile service again, you can review all that data from the Garmin Explore website.

Designed for extreme adventures
The GPSMAP 66 series has up to 16 hours of battery life in GPS mode and up to 1 week in standby mode (with 2 AA batteries). It provides an LED flashlight and SOS beacon that can be used to signal for help. It’s built to military standards for thermal, shock and water performance (MIL-STD-810G), and it’s even compatible with night vision goggles.
