Perched atop Mt Stirling, Craig’s Hut offers stunning views of the ranges and is one of the region’s most photographed landmarks. Accessible by 4WD or 2WD followed by a short walk the view is well worth the visit. There are so many High Country huts worth visiting around the area, pop in store and grab a map before you head off on an adventure! Note: There will be seasonal road closures between June and November.

We are so lucky to have so many waterways close by filled with fresh water fish. These include Lake Eildon, Lake Nillahcootie and rivers such as the Delatite and  Howqua River. You can expect to catch trout, Murray Cod, Yellowbelly and Redfin.

Lake Eildonis on of Victoria's most popular inland waterways for recreational boating, Fishing, jet skiing and Houseboat hire. Covering an area of 138.3 km², there's plenty of room for all to enjoy!

Lake Nillahcootieis situated on the the Broken-River, just 25km outside of Mansfield towards Benalla. It's another great lake to fish, go for a picnic with the family or water ski. This beautiful location has plenty to offer.

Nestled in the High Country are a multitude of free campsites. You can choose to perch by the river, the lake or even up high in the mountains. These are perfect bases for your 4wd adventures, hiking and fishing. Let the kids roam free in the great outdoors and share those stories by the campfire.

Over 20 years ago, Mansfield’s first dedicated hunting store, Mansfield Hunting and Fishing, opened its doors. Shane and Mandy, spotted an opportunity while their kids were competing in shooting sports and turned their passion into a thriving business.

As the years went on, the store grew. Fishing and camping gear were added, and later, the MHF team expanded next door, creating a dedicated Yeti and game-grilling store. Today, Shane, Mandy, and the MHF team have built Mansfield’s ultimate hub for outdoor adventure enthusiasts

Nick, Shane and Mandy’s son, has been part of the firearms industry for many years. He began his career as a firearm sales representative with one of our major suppliers before returning to the store as the business continued to grow. Nick brings a wealth of knowledge across the board and previously competed in clay target shooting, representing Australia, before turning his focus to deer hunting.

His partner, Angie, has been a vital part of the MHF team for seven years, contributing to the growth and success of the business.
