How to Use

Harry’s Fried Chicken Spice Blend:

  • Prepare Your Meat: Soak 500g of chicken (4-6 thighs), fish, prawns, or calamari in 1 cup of buttermilk with 1 tsp of salt for 20 minutes to overnight. If you don’t have buttermilk, mix 1 cup of milk with 1 tbsp of vinegar.
  • Create the Coating: Combine 1.5 tbsp of Harry’s Spice Blend with 1/2 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of cornflour. This mixture ensures a crisp, golden-brown exterior that is both flavourful and crunchy. The baking powder included in the blend helps create the perfect crispy texture, so you don’t need to add any extra baking powder.
  • Coat and Cook: Dip the meat in the buttermilk mixture, then thoroughly coat with the spice-flour mix. Preheat oil to about 180°C and deep fry or pan fry until golden brown and crispy.
  • Enjoy: Serve hot and savour the incredible flavour and perfect crunch.
